from fullness to fullness
Our needs drive us to action. So what happens when our needs are met?
Instead of going from one activity to another, one goal to the next, out of need, can we pursue from a place of fullness?
A chapter of my life was spent healing myself. I would go from therapy to therapy, workshop to workshop, activity to activity, in hopes of advancing my healing. I had a strong need that was driving me. Almost all my efforts were placed on the rails of the path of healing.
These days I feel much more whole. There is no longer the same sense of lack forcing me to act. So how do I keep motivated?
I've learned that we can hop from fullness to fullness. We can still have our dreams and ambitions without coming from a place of need or lack. We do not need to be starving to enjoy a meal.
Fullness looks like waking up inspired, not because we must fix something, but because we genuinely want to create. It is movement, not from urgency, but from curiosity and joy.
If you find yourself pursuing things out of a harsh necessity, here's my invitation: ask yourself what would it look like to be full and on the path? What does pursuit look like when your needs are met?
You may find yourself tapped into a motivational source whose fuel burns both bright and long.
