when 60% is your 100%

What if your best today is only 60% of your usual self?

Remember that showing up at 100% is not the point—but showing up your best is.

If, on a given day, you're only at 60%, then that's your 100% for the day.

Today is one of those days for me. I have an important interview I've been preparing for. I flew from Europe to California to do it.

And on this trip, I’ve had the worst jet lag in years. Waking up at 1, 3, 4, 5 a.m. each day. Not rested.

Despite all the reworking and practice, it still isn’t up to my usual standard. I know I could do better.

But this is what it is. I may be at 40 or 60%, but today that's my 100%.

The challenge is keeping a full-effort mindset—even when I know I’m not at full capacity. I have to avoid the pitfall of thinking that I won't succeed because of that.

If we had to be at our absolute best every time we went out to achieve something, we would rarely make progress.

The future is unwritten. And every time we show up—ready or not—we write it.
