keep moving

Always keep moving.

Momentum begets momentum. Once we have taken flight, the wind beneath our wings carries us. Startup costs require high energy, but once we're in the air, we expend less on average.

Of course, take rest. Make the pit stop for fuel. Take the restorative steps. These are necessary in the cycle.

Even if momentum slows, when you're making progress toward a goal, do the small things you can to keep it moving. Even when you feel your work product isn't your best, still show up for the job. Investors keep betting, knowing that some of their output will outsize the rest. Not all shots are winners.

I sit here today writing, still recovering from a cold, not feeling my physical nor emotional best. I am taking time to rest, but I also know that momentum keeps me from getting stuck in negative thought loops. Making sure I continue my daily rituals of writing, studying, and meditating—though not at their optimal state—cushions against a potential crash.

So, keep moving. Do what you can do. Rather than letting your mind wander, let your hands work.
