stillness isn't the only way

We replay the past. We fear the future. And yet, the only place we ever are is here.

Life is an exercise in meditation—a daily return to the present, again and again.

You don’t need to solve regret or anxiety.

The practice is to guide your attention back to the present moment—to the path right in front of you.

The monkey mind will drag you through one thought trap or another. That’s how the mind works—it’s part of the practice.

Gently draw yourself back. Engage with what’s right in front of you.

And if the pull is too strong, you may need to disrupt the pattern.

Sometimes presence can’t be found in stillness alone.

Go for a walk. Go to the gym. Call a friend.

Sometimes a small distraction is all it takes to calm the monkey mind—just enough to return to now.
