leverage your environment
Leverage your environment to do your work.
There are times when I am tempted to stay home to do my work, whether it's a set of chores, coding, or music projects. All fine and dandy, but this temptation is often a trap. The multi-associational nature of the home—mixed with rest, play, work, and more—leaves the mind confused about what to do. I am guilty of getting distracted by something out of place, fixing up laundry, or taking my dog out when I may have higher-priority tasks to tackle.
Getting out of the house—into a café, an office, or any other space conducive to work—does half the work for you. Changing your environment to one with fewer distractions can be the lever that separates an unproductive day from a productive one.
What space can you create to leverage your mind into the states you want it to be in? What places can you go to enable your mind to do what it needs to do?
