policy: no last min cancellations
I have a personal policy: no day-of cancellations unless it’s an emergency.
Most of the time, when I cancel something last minute, I end up regretting it. Sure, I didn’t feel like going—but I almost always wish I had. And on the other side, it’s not a great look. Leaving people hanging can come across as flaky or unreliable.
So here’s the rule: if you know you’re not into it, cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
Emergencies? Of course. Cancel away.
But otherwise, the goal is to give people notice—and to give yourself the chance to push through that resistance, whether it’s social anxiety, hesitation, or just feeling off.
It's a way to show up for yourself and others.
