questions are the gateway

Questions are the gateway.

When we ask, we open the door. Rather, we knock on the door to see if it will open for us. We ask questions to know someone—their heart, their thoughts.

Sometimes they cannot or will not answer. The door will not open for you. Do not force it open. Let it be. Recognize the door, and try the next.

At times, simply knocking is not enough. It may require a key—a different kind of knocking. Some doors have particular features. Some doors only open on certain days, hours, or seasons.

When a door slams shut, do not take it personally. It has little or nothing to do with you. Maybe you knocked wrongly, but that’s OK. We can’t get it right 100% of the time.

What questions will you ask to open the door to connection? What keys will you bring to the threshold?
