Show up with your gear. That's it.

I've stated this in other posts, but it bears repeating: showing up is the most important thing you can do. Bringing your gear along with you makes the rest easier.

Do your best with the planning. Do your best while you're there. But once you arrive and take the leap, everything else falls into place.

I remind myself of this when I catch myself overthinking or worrying about how well something will go. If I've done the prep, all I need to do is pack my gear and get myself there.

Sometimes, the gig, the event, the whatever doesn't go as planned. That's part of the portfolio. Not all your assets will perform optimally all the time. Accepting a margin of error takes the edge off. Perfectionism isn't anyone's friend.

Next time you find yourself worrying about something you need to show up for, remember: just pack your gear and go. Showing up does half the work for you. Trust in the momentum.
